My sweet niece, Alicia Titus, will always be remembered for her death on UA175, but those of us who knew her & loved her, know that her life was so much more inspiring. She had been a Flight Attendant for only NINE months when she was killed on 9/11. She was living with me when she got her job with UA & her first non-rev pass was used to fly from BOS to TPA to visit me, with only 15 days of seniority!!
She was incredibly funny, smart & caring. Her beauty shone from within her soul & showed in
her actions. She had a very sweet voice which made it difficult to take her seriously when she
dropped the f-bomb while swearing at drivers who cut her off! She was brave; facing down a bear
(while carrying a bag of food), a bull while sleeping on the ground on a beach in Spain & a
punk who pulled a knife on her in a dark alley. She decided to move to SFO from Ohio, so found a
job & roommate on the internet, packed up her POS VW Rabbit & headed west.
She was always concerned about making others feel good about themselves & recognized the
beauty & value of each of those she loved. Anyone that met her, remembered her, even the
passenger who snapped his fingers at her. I doubt he’ll ever do it again.
Her 28 years, 3 months weren’t nearly enough on this earth, but she will never be forgotten.
